विराटनगरमा पूर्वाञ्चल स्तरीय भव्य कविगोष्ठी

माघ ११ गते, पूर्वाञ्चल साहित्य प्रतिष्ठान विराटनगरद्वारा आयोजित पूर्वाञ्चल स्तरीय कवि गोष्ठी विराटनगरमा भव्य रुपमा सम्पन्न भयो । कृष्णभूषण वल, मनु मञ्जिल, उपेन्द्र पागल, मधु पोखरेल, ज्योति जंगल, मिश्र बैजयन्ति, कृष्ण बराल, कृष्ण निराकार, देवान किराती, परशुराम लुइटेल, सुमित्रा थापा, खोलाघरे साइला, चुडामणि नेपाल अकिञ्चन, समुद्रा शर्मा लगायतका ५० भन्दा बढी कविहरुले गोष्ठीमा कविता वाचन गरेका थिए ।

प्रतिष्ठानका सभापति विवश पोखरेलको सभापतित्वमा भएको उक्त कविगोष्ठीमा प्रमुख अतिथी भाषाशास्त्री बालकृष्ण पोखरेलले कवि रमाप्रसाद रिजालको "एक चस्को दुखेको मुटु" कवितासंग्रह विमोचन गर्नुभयो । गोष्ठीमा वरिष्ठ आख्यानकार परशु प्रधान, भाषाशास्त्री तथा साहित्यकार चुडामणि रेग्मी, पुनरावेदन अदालतका प्रमुख न्यायधीस भिमेन्द्रबहादुर कार्कीले मन्तव्य दिनुभयो ।

साहित्यकार मीनकुमार नवोदित र गोकुल अधिकारीद्वारा विराटनगर उपमहानगरपालिकाको सभाहलमा सञ्चालित उक्त गोष्ठीको सुरुमा कवि भूषण ढुंगेलले स्वागत मन्तव्य दिनुभयो ।

The under review anthology of poems by Nawa Raj Subba entitled Bich Batoma Byunjhera, however, shows that he has this art. Similarly, one who fails to be brief and enlarged according to the demand of theme, also can’t be a poet. Composer Subba has succeeded to demonstrate this quality also. So, he is definitely a poet, whose contribution to the genre of the Nepali poetry is noticeably strengthening in recent times.

Surveillance of Avian Influenza

22 January 2009, Jhapa Nepal, More than 27000 chickens, ducks and pigeons have been killed and culled by Rapid Response Team in Kakarvitta Jhapa Nepal.

Surveillance of human bird flue has been started in the affected area. Households will be visited for suspected Influenza Like Illness (ILI) cases. Surveillance team has found a ILI case Gita Thapa from Dhulabari and kept under isolation and treatment in Mechi Zonal Hospital. Now her condition is normal.

Bird Flue Outbreak in Jhapa

Government of Nepal has declared first bird flue case detected in Jhapa on 16th of January. Lab investigation of specimen collected from dead chickens in Mechinagar-10 Jhapa has found H5N1 virus. Following the laboratory report government has set emergency area covering 3 KM radius of house of Ramesh Karki Mechinagar 10. Culling of chickens or birds has began from 18th of January in the area. Culling process was delayed due to resistance of farmers since compensation announced by the government is very low.

District Public Health Office Jhapa has joined a control room to form a medical team where prophylaxis treatment are made available for cullers and passive surveillnce has also been started in the district.

Delivery Service now Free in Nepal

Government of Nepal has decided to make delivery service free across the country from 14 January 2009. The cost covering normal and scissoring section will be reimbursed to all health institutions accordingly by Ministry of Health as Regional Director Dr N.P. KC said in a regional workshop today in Biratnagar.  

In Nepal, Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is 283 per 100,000 live births in 2005 and which is expected to lower as 250 by the year 2009 in the country as government plan. However, the MMR is being considered still higher in the region.
